Schedule Today!Asian Cockroaches
Asian cockroaches look very similar to German cockroaches, however their behavior is quite different.
What Do Asian Cockroaches Look Like?
Asian cockroaches are small and brown-colored with a dark band that runs down their backs starting at their heads. They have strong wings and two antennae and are typically around 5/8 of an inch long.
Where Can You Find Asian Cockroaches?
Asian cockroaches are typically found in southern states like Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas. Asian cockroaches mostly live outdoors where you will find them in shaded areas. They like to live in densely covered areas like grass and mulch.
Asian cockroaches can amass huge populations in small areas. In some of these mulch and compost piles that are filled with the kinds of organic material Asian cockroaches love to feed on, you may find tens of thousands of cockroaches in a small area—anywhere from 30,000 to 250,000 Asian cockroaches per acre in certain areas.
Asian Cockroaches and Your Home
Asian cockroaches will very rarely come into your home and other buildings. They are nocturnal, but unlike other roaches that scatter when you turn on a light, these cockroaches are attracted to lights and may accidentally fly into your home through an open window toward lamps, televisions and any other light in your home.
